Milestones and a give away

Hey Bloggy Friends guess what.......

ThIs Is My 100Th PoSt!!!!!!

I started this little blog up in September after reading blogs for the first time ever!

I know~I live a sheltered life!

I loved it instantly! I Love the fact that I can write what's on my heart. Maybe it's fun, or deep, or painful or creative... An outlet~
I plan on printing what I've written into a book for safe keeping. You know....my own journal.

I have considered quitting from time to time.

There are various reasons.
Sometimes it's REALLY easy to compare my blog with others. And when I do that it always makes me feel like the loser!

Some people have blogs that are so amazing they look like a real author....well actually some of them are real authors.

And then some people are so funny I seriously think they may write comedy for other people....I've considered paying them to write for me.

And then of course there are blogs who put up one sentence like
"Hey, I'm eating chicken tonight".
And they get like 1,203 comments! Unbelievable!

But mostly, I think it's because I really dislike being misunderstood.

If I am misunderstood in person at least I have the chance to explain it. On my blog I have no way of knowing if people are even reading it, and if they are, what are they thinking about it.

Your comments are so helpful in letting me know your feedback!

I love that!

Speaking of which....Thank you so much for all your comments on "the bachelor"! It was one of those posts that I was very nervous to write. I don't want to be judgemental and I recognize a post like that can come across in that way!

I loved your insights, honesty, and am glad to know I am not alone.

Well, as a celebration that I did make it to 100 I feel this pressure to have some kind of give-away!

Everyone loves free stuff!

And I want you to know how much I appreciate you, my friends from all over!

My friend Jana makes these AMAZING chocolates. She left some on my porch this week. Just in time to put on a little extra padding before I get in my swim suit in Florida!

I loved them so much I asked her if I could give a box of these away for my 100th post!

So if you like Chocolate you better sign up for this tasty little treat!!!!

Just leave me a comment below and I will randomly pick a person on Saturday, Feb 28.

I am spending a week in Florida with my mom, sister and 2 sister in laws. My one sister in law will not be joining us. We are sorry for that.

But we are looking forward to a wonderful week of the beach, eating out, no schedule and basically just connecting in ways we aren't usually able to do! YEAH!

So when I get home next weekend I will get right on the give-away!

Okay?!

Hugs from me~ Thanks for your friendship!

  2. oh ho ho..if you only knew how many times i've pushed that "publish" button and then that lump suddenly appears in my throat. WHAT WILL SHE or SHE or SHE think? it is so doggone hard not to feel many of these things you expressed here. so i guess, i want you to know you are soooo not alone. and although i struggle a lot with not letting other people's opinions *steal my joy* in blogging, it is still hard.

and ya know that last post i wrote about my hubby? would you believe his boss' wife reads my blog (uninvited but hey) and so that's a double whammie!

i for one am grateful you blog cuz i've sure enjoyed meeting you!!

  3. Ok Rose..I think that b/c I am carrying another little person in my belly that I should definitely win the chocolate...double whamy...you would be blessing TWO people with ONE box of chocolate. How can you beat that? Pray about it and see where the Lord leads you :)

Oh and yea, I love reading your blog as well. You aren't afraid to put yourself right out there and and you say things that all of us are thinking but don't have the guts to write about. I love that. You are relateable (is that how you spell that) So keep blogging away my friend and have a blast in FL. I am sooooo jealous!!!

  5. Ok, first of all Rose, don't stop writing. I haven't done a good job about commenting but, I love reading your blog!! The things you have written have challenged, encouraged, convicted, & blessed me and I have able to relate to so much of what you've shared! Thanks for keeping it real! I think that's what a real good blog is about. :)

Now, I feel a little selfish entering your giveaway since I won those heavenly carmels.....but, oh my word chocolates...I can't resist that chance! :)

  6. When I am tempted to compare myself with another, I replace that temptation with searching my heart to see how I am conforming to Christ.

I'm enjoying your posts and your pictures!
Today on the west central coast of Florida, the sun is shining and there is a gentle breeze!

  7. I don't always leave comments, but I read your blog faithfully! First, I read Amy's...then I scroll down on her page to see if you've posted a new entry...if so, I head right on over to your blog! :-)

Then when I get to your blog, the first thing I do is scroll down to your playlist and pick out the music I want to hear while I read your entry. And sometimes I leave your blog open while I look at other stuff online, just so that I can still hear the music. :-)

As for the content of your blog posts, love it! The fact that I read about your life but have never met you, and you don't know me....it all seems random (and just plain strange) sometimes! But be assured, your words speak to me, and I SO enjoy what you write!

    Now, about those chocolates....

  8. I really don't want the chocolate, not much of a fan, so if you draw my name just drop it back in. However, if you want to give away a bag (big bag) of kettle cooked greasy chips, draw my name anytime!

Simply wanted to tell you I love reading your blog. God speaks through you in unknown ways. Sometimes when I need to do some soul searching (a kick in the pants), you are there with some thought-provoking and inspiring post! Thanks!

  10. I really enjoy reading your blog! I am horrible at commenting because I check so many blogs I just don't take the time! But I am always uplifted by your wonderful posts! Keep up the great work! I have the same feelings after reading other peoples blogs...like why am I even blogging but you do inspire me and I am sure many others by just being yourself and God in his goodness made us all different and thank goodness for that :) Have a great time in Florida! My hubby and I just got back and can't wait to go again :)

  11. FLORIDA. That rocks.

I feel the same way about blogging, all the things you listed. My humor can be a bit dry and sarcastic and I've offended people with that accidentally. Gladly most people know that I would never intend to hurt.

I love what you share on your blog, you've inspired me so many times.

    Happy 100th!

'Wondering if you are in my area of Florida?
    Enjoy your stay.
    Eat some citrus.
    Have a cuban...sandwich, that is.

  14. The Greek Festival is hosted by the Greek Orthodox Church in Clearwater. We went last night and ate gyros and got some delicious pastries. (I'm doing a post on that next week.)
But you are a bit far away for it. Our area has a Greek community in Tarpon Springs that is amazing. Great restaurants and shops. There may be something like it there in Sarasota.
But like I said, while you're here, eat Cuban food (Ybor City)or at least a pressed sandwich, get some citrus (I love Ruby Red grapefruit). Also the strawberries are in. Plant City is the place to buy those. Are you visiting family? And the area you are in has a beach where you can pick up shark's teeth (Venice beach). Almost forgot...eat a grouper sandwich, too.
Have a fun in the sun w/your mom and sisters.

  15. Congratulations on your 100th post! Isn't blogging fun?! I have really enjoyed it too. Some times I am nervous about posting something that might offend, and at times I have offended people (mostly non-Christians). But I like to be able to write from my heart. I hope you have a wonderful time in Florida! We are heading there the first week of April. You picked a perfect week to go since we are getting dumped on with snow here!

Happy 100th...I love to read your blog. My blog was mainly just to keep family up to speed on what was going on in our lives. In doing that, I have met some amazing people along the way. And you are one of them!
